Major League Baseball is underway with hot dogs, peanuts and cracker jacks being purchased all around the country at a stadium near you. The 2015 season looks to be a promising one with the young stars Mike Trout and Bryce Harper both looking to build on great rookie seasons while other top ranked prospects Manny Machado and Jurickson Profar both look to play a full season.
The idea of knowing what players will produce and what players will decline is a total guessing game. Each season comes a future hall of famer enters their last season playing professional baseball that will be true in New York where Mariano Rivera looks to end a story book career. One of the most dominating closers of all-time will put up the cleats after this season. Rivera all-ready holds the record for most career saves looks to go out on his terms.
While careers are coming to end new careers are beginning in Texas and Baltimore for Manny Machado and Jurickson Profar. Look for Machado to bat around .285 while hitting 22-26 home-runs while playing great defense at third base. In Texas Profar will give the team a young star to build around for many years to come. Profar could hit 20 home-runs and steal 30 bases in the Majors.
Now young stars will come and go but the sure shot super stars will continue to dominate in the Majors. Look for Miguel Cabrera to put up big numbers in Detroit while Albert Pujols add on to his home-run totals. Now these guys we all know will produce it’s the smaller named players we all wonder about. The Kansas City Royals have two stars in the making with Eric Hosmer and Mike Moustakas. Look for the pair to combine for 55 to 60 home-runs while driving in over 200 together. Kansas City has a chance to compete in the Central with the added ace James Shields.
While in Baltimore the O’s look to Chris Davis to anchor first base and build on traffic 2012 season in which he belted 33 home-runs to lead the Orioles. Davis has gotten off to a hot start in 2013 hitting three home-runs in his first three games while driving in 11 runs. Down in DC the Nat’s young star Bryce Harper belted 2 home-runs in the first game of the season. Both of these stars should make watching baseball in the beltway fun to watch.
Now a few other of my players to watch around baseball include Yu Darvish of the Texas Rangers, Justin Upton of the Atlanta Braves and Anthony Rizzo of the Chicago Cubs.
