NFL PICKS NEWS- FREE WEEKLY NFL PICKS
JrTips News for Tuesday, Sept 7th, Vikings @ Saints September 9th, 2010 8:30 PM EST
Free NFL Weekly Picks insider previews the Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints who will open up the season on Thursday, Sept 9th in the New Orleans Super Dome where the Saints will raise the championship banner.
This will be a huge revenge game to open the season after the Saints eliminated Brett Favre and the Vikings in overtime of the NFC title game winning 31-28 in a game that saw Minnesota outgain the Saints 475-257 and got three rushing touchdowns from Adrian Peterson although they lost three fumbles and threw two interceptions which caused them the chance to go to the Super Bowl.
Favre comtiplated coming back after suffering injuries in last year’s Championship game against the Saints that included a sprain ankle but will make his 286th consecutive start at the age of 40 to start the 2010 season.
Our Football insiders for Free NFL Weekly Picks report that both teams looked solid in the preseason and have some of the top talent in the NFL especially on the offensive side of the ball but will enter the start of this season with key injuries they must overcome to start the season.
Minnesota will start the season without Sidney Rice who became the Vikings #1 receiver last season but Favre who three 33 touchdowns to only 7 interceptions in 2009 will still have plenty of weapons to start the season.
The explosive all purpose receiver Percy Harvey is expected to play after suffering migraines in the preseason along with tight end Visanthe Shiancoe and Adrian Peterson who will be the center of attack after gaining 1,383 yards while leading the NFL with 18 touchdowns last year.
New Orleans and Brees who led the NFL with the top-ranked offense in 2009 didn’t look like they slowed down at all on offense throughout the preseason. Brees will go for his fourth consecutive year throwing for 4,000 yards and won’t slow down this season behind a great offensive line and weapons like Marques Colston, Jermey Shockey, Reggie Bush and Robert Meachem.
Both teams will be starting the season with key injuries on defense that made big plays to aid them in a successful 2009 season.
The Saints who ranked 26th in the league in passing last season will be without safety Darren Sharper who lead the defense in making big plays last season while the Vikings will be without Cedric Griffen who went down in the NFC Championship game and weaken a secondary that allowed 26 touchdowns and 218 yards per game passing.

Jrtips News:Reds @ Rockies September 7th, 2010 8:40 PM EST
MLB Picks insider reports the Colorado Rockies will try to continue their hot streak and make a run for the wildcard spot after winning 10-5 yesterday over the Cincinnati Reds.
The Rockies go for their fifth straight win over the Reds and 8th straight overall at home with a win tonight. They will start Jhoulys Chacin who is 7-9 with a 3.69 ERA this season but has been dominate of late allowing only two earned runs giving up 12 hits while striking out 19 over 20 innings to go 2-0 in his last three outings.
The Cincinnati Reds lead the NL Central by six games although they have lost three out of four on their current seven-game road trip. The Reds will counter with Johnny Cueto who is 12-4 with a 3.41 ERA and will start although he had to leave the team to deal with family matters in the Dominican Republic over the weekend. Cueto has also been solid of late giving up only 2 runs and 11 hits over 14 innings pitched to go 1-0 in his last two outings.
MLB Picks insider reports that every game is important to the Rockies and they are hard to beat at home where their offense plays much better. The Rockies Carlos Gonzalez is leading the National League with a 340 batting average and is 30 for 56 with 18 RBI’s during his current career best 14 game hitting streak.
The Rockies will have the advantage with Chacin who will be facing the Reds as a starter for the first time in his career and if he pitches like he has over his past 3 outings, the Rockies and their explosive offense at home will be too much for the Reds who have lost their last 9 out of 10 at Coors field to overcome.

Jrtips News:Oakland Raiders vs. San Francisco 49ers NFL Preseason Preview and Free Pick
JrTips football insiders for NFL Weekly Picks report that the Oakland Raiders and San Francisco Giants, two Bay Area teams meet on Saturday night to play their 3rd game of the NFL Preseason and both teams look like they are on the rise. Each team won last week and looked impressive as the Oakland Raiders and their new quarterback Jason Campbell beat the Chicago Bears.
Campbell looked in control of this offensive going 10 for 20 throwing for 170 yards and he will have a lot of help this season with a strong running game as Michael Bush who had eight carries for 26 yards will be the featured back while Darren McFadden brings the homeruns threat. They also have strong backups in Michael Bennet and Rock Cartwright plus a potential pro Bowl tight in Zach Miller who will be a good safety blanket for Campbell.
The Raider defense looked dominating last week against the Bears as kamerion Wimbley had six tackles and four sacks in only a half of play while their number draft pick Rolando McClain looks like he will make a real impact this season.
The 49ers showed promise last season and have a plethora of talent on both sides of the ball and Alex Smith has clearly claimed the job as the number one quarterback. Our football insiders for NFL Weekly Picks report that the 49ers have the best running back in the division with Frank Gore who ran for a 1,000 yards for a fifth straight year and the offensive line which was a problem last season looks like it has tremendously improved. The receiver position is loaded with talent featuring pro bowl tight end Vernon Davis, Michael Crabtree and new comer Ted Ginn from the Miami Dolphins.
The 49er defense which was ranked #1 in their division last season looks even better as they were aggressive with the rush even in the preseason and had four sacks against the Vikings including one on the first series against Brett Favre. San Francisco may feature arguable the best defensive player in the NFL in inside linebacker Patrick Willis who is a tackling machine.

JrTips News: College Football Picks Preview and Handicapping Information
College Football Picks are based on three things, public perception, stats and previous results or inside information. In order to be on the right side throughout the College Football season, all these factors will be based on facts so our football insiders will preview some information for the opening weekend to factor into your handicapping.
The reason why fans love the College Football game is because it is so unpredictable with players changing every year but the names of the schools stay the same. One of the most exciting things to look forward to start a new season is when a true freshman quarterback begins his College Football career as a starter.
This season for the first time in 45 years a head coach, Joe Paterno will start true freshman Robert Bolden at quarterback in their opener Saturday against Youngstown State. It is a big feat for a freshman quarterback to become an opening day starter especially since they only have from the summer until the start of the season to impress their coaches.
Bolden was a four-star recruit out of Michigan and ranked the fourth best quarterback in the nation by ESPN.com. Bolden who stands 6 ‘3 threw for 1,013 yards and rushed for 535 in his senior year in high school and will look to lead Penn State for the next four years.
JrTips insiders for College Football picks project that if Bolden becomes a star, you will probably see the old ball coach Joe Paterno retire when Bolden leaves.
